Re: Panel truck or Pick up?

I vote for the Panel. If the Panel is a standard length Panel and the '66 is a short wheelbase then it will be a pretty easy swap. They're the same wheelbase as was already mentioned. The one difference will be the front cab mount and possibly some of the other body mounts. But since you have both frames, just compare and transfer what you need to put the Panel body on the '66 frame

the frt cab mounts are the same are they not; it is the second set that are different, the ones at the back of the p/u cab or behind the seat on the panel
the back of the frames are different as for attaching the back of the panel body(rear crossmember)

Thanks for the input, man you guys here know your stuff. Its gonna make this project a lot easier. As soon as I get the cab and bed sold off the truck I will start to compare the frames. It seem that the front are the same, and the next set back are different. I think the location might be the same, but the mount itself is longer( sticks out farther) on the panel. And the rear, I haven't even looked yet. I put the bed on Craigslist last night and got five emails about it, it seems like parts for these trucks sell pretty good? Anyways, thanks for all your input, I'm going out of town tomorrow so won't be on for a week or so. Hope you guys have a good Thanksgiving.

Re: Panel truck or Pick up?

just realized that it is a 61 and a 66 ; I believe that the 66 mounts are also spaced out a little further sideways

Re: Panel truck or Pick up?

Looks like a project all right!!! About your pics....the error may be that the pics are too large. Need to be downsized; I do mine 50% from original.
