Looking to trade for a burb,...

I'm putting my S10 up for sale,... but I'd really like to trade for a nice 67-72 suburban. (I'd also trade up if yours is higher priced.) I'm looking for a nice 1/2 or 3/4 ton 2wd close to the midwest. PM me if interested. Here's the ad: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/c...ct=2840&cat=17.

Funny you said that. I had a '91 S10 short bed regular cab almost identical to that one (only mine was the darker red) back in 2001. It had the crappy 2.8 that went out on me right after I bought the truck. The owner had just had it replaced 3 months before I bought it. (it was the third GM 2.8 in the truck, all GM dealer replaced). Long story short, I convinced my wife it would be cheaper to put a '96 Corvette LT1 with 6 speed tranny in it. At the end of the day it probably wasn't cheaper, but it was a heck of a lot more fun!!! They didn't have wiring harness conversions at the time, so I had to figure out all the wiring myself. I used stock Blazer buckets for seats with a custom console. The ruck looked completely stock from outside including the stock looking single pipe (2.5") side exit exhaust (except for the traction bars I eventually put on it) What a job that was. But man I have to tell you, It was a BLAST to drive. I have always waned to do another one, only this time maybe a 6.0. I got Fantastic gas mileage in it too. I think it was about 25-28 mpg city/hwy mixed. If I had the money, we would be talking!! Good Luck.

Hmmm,... you do have a suburban though,....

Everyone that see's my s10 asks if it has a v8 in it. I would love to do the swap,... but when gas was $3.99/gallon I was glad to have the gas mileage. If I keep it,... it will probably end up with some 18 and 20 inch grey centered Coys wheels.

Re: Looking to trade for a burb,...

Keep the wheels you have, spend the money on the swap!! It is a light truck, do a 5.3 w/ overdrive swap. You would get great gas mileage and would spend about the same as a new set of wheels and tires! Come on man.. DO IT!!!!
Shawn
BTW, the burb is the wife's, she wont go for giving it up at all!!
