Re: head light knob
reach behind it (that means stick your arm way up behind the dash), there's a tiny round button thing with a spring on it, it'll be on the top of the switch. push that in while pulling in and out out the knob and the whole rod comes out.

Re: head light knob
You need to take the battery loose or take the wiring off the backside of the switch before doing this. If not the lights will stay on the whole time.

Re: head light knob
I found if you pull the knob out, then press the button on top it'll come out the rest of the way a lot easier.

Re: head light knob
Andy: FYI. save your self 2 steps and leave the battery hooked up. use a screw driver about the same shaft size as the head light shaft and push the screwdriver in the hole till the lights shut off and remove the screwdriver. when your ready to go push in the light nobe all the way in and pull it out as normal for the lights to work . thats what i do.

Re: head light knob
That may just be the trick of the day 463. The only thing is that when most of us need to pull the knob out of the switch we also need to change the switch and it is a bit safer with the battery disconnected.
