Newbe from nor cal
This kind of weird for me because im not really a chevy guy..I am mostly in to AMCs but couldnt resist a different change..I had a 72 short bed stepside back in high school, that was fun..I sold the truck because i was a dumb teenager that couldnt keep his foot out of the throttle but the 69 large journal 327 was to much to resist,so long story short i lost my license and had to sell it to pay off fines..All most ten years later i found a deal i could not resist on a 69 short bed fleet side..Factory 292 4 speed, the bed and front were converted to 67 chevy..Been sitting for over 15 years,no motor or trans and the rear had been stripped to bare housing..Cab had a lot of rust but had a solid frame and costed no money only some time..
Here it is about 8 months later and i have changed everything on the truck execpt the bed and frame..Stiil has a long way to go but here is a little of what i have done..5 lug conversion,a/c cab, tach dash, tilt column, different 67 nose,2 inch drop with bell tech springs, and a 90 tbi 350 with a 700 r4..Truck runs and drives great, gets 24 mpg on the highway but only gets 16 in town...It is still in primer, not 100% on color yet..I kinda kick my self now because i didnt take any pics while doing all the main big changes, because i was figuring i would sell it half way thou, but i do agmit the truck has grown on me... |
