barn door rattles? any fixes or new parts available?

The telescoping door stops that mount to the tops of the barn doors to keep them from swinging open all the way have a lot of rattles in them. I'm getting tired of stuffing gloves and rags around them to keep them quiet so I can sanely drive. Are these pieces reproduced, and are there any better designs or fixes to stop the rattles? I thought of just trying to crimp the telescoping pieces together a little tighter, but then the pivots on the end are still going to rattle. I think the fix is beyond some wheel bearing grease. Any other suburban / panel owners ever tackle this problem? I don't see any repro stuff for these in the LMC catalog, but they pretty much stink as far as Suburban / panel parts 60-66. I can't find my classic catalog anywhere.

Thanks,

Chuck

I am coating mine with the goo that you use to make grips on tools. I am not sure how well it will work yet, but I will let you know. I have experamented a bit and I am pretty sure it will work with out changing how they work.

Ive got the clamshell style doors and I am missing 1 hatch support. I cant find one anywhere!!! I'm thinking of using some hydro supports like on newer vehicles.

The hatch open with 1 support is scary.

New weatherstripping may help. I do old burbs and have found one source that has more parts for them than other vendors, try:
