erratic speedometer
Just noticed this while I started sitting at idle, it would jump to 10-15mph while 'supposedly' sitting at 0 while braked at a light, after I had just got done cruising at an easy 35 for example. It is also about 5-10mph "faster" than what I'm really doing on the road/highway. I don't mind but would eventually like to have it fixed if any of you have any suggestions. I'm planning on replacing with an alternator, this is what I have on it right now....

Mine does that too, kinda bounces all around. Stays steady while driving though. I'm not worried about it but it would be interesting to know what causes it

I would say that the cable is binding inside the outer casing and unbinding it's self when you stop and making the speedo jump. My 2 cents. Bob

As for the innacuarcy, you'll need to change the plastic gears in the trans tailhousing. There are several threads here on doing that, as well as calculating the needed gears, if you search for it.
