GEN III EFI/Fuel Tank Questions - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

To all of you who have installed fuel injection into your 67-72, what type of tank setup are you using? I have seen a number of different variants from CPP, ECE, etc... What else is out there? I do not really want to spend a lot of $ on the tank alone. Rick's Hot Rod Shop quoted over $1000.00 for just the tank! Lets see pics... Any ideas?

contact boardmember "fuelcellguy" and he can help ya out. i have actually used him on 2 difft. occasions and he's a gr8 guy to deal with.

I am using my stock tank with an in-tank pump. Mounted the regulator just outside the tank and ran 1 fuel line up to the motor. Inexpensive and easy!

What do you do about low fuel starving the engine on corners?

Stock 00 Trans Am fuel tank.....got it with the fuel pump for $50

I 2nd using FuelCellGuy, he made me a custom fit for my blazer and did an excellent job.

Baffles, in-tank pump...etc.

i do like ackattacks. stock. cheap. gets job done and its from a t/a and the t/a had an ls1 so they were ment to work together pretty much. i got mine from no limit hot rod. i think i paid 450 for the aluminum tank and like another 2 for the fuel injection system inside. comes with pump, line, and everything just ready to connect. does come with all hardware and everything to just bolt right up. nice fit too and all aluminum looks nice... can someone show me how to upload pictures. it says mine are to large

i've saved all the info on ackattack's camaro tank install and fender widening, and plan to use both on my build. this is great and economical information for the DIYers like most of us. i don't like to farm anything out if i can help it. great stuff "Ack".

Call Tanks and get their universal poly truck tank. It fits between the rear rails and you just have to slide the that last crossmember back. The tank is only $215 and the LS pump is another $215.

So that is $430 for everything! Tell John, Josh at Buckaroo sent you.

All those problems of retro fitting in another tank or building one with baffling and in tank pump are not a problem if you go with a mechanical pump.
