Added a new rig to the 4-5-6 Chevy fleet

I bought this '66 Chevy C10 lwb fleetside from a friend for the factory A/C system, but soon discovered it was too well optioned and complete, not to mention running and driveable, to part. It also has a clear Kansas title.

It is a factory V8, automatic with big back window, factory power brakes and factory A/C truck. I cleaned it up a bit and removed all the loose parts and trash from the cab and bed, as well as, cleaned up some of the wiring under the hood and dash. I also installed the missing mirrors, rear view mirror, sun visors, antennae, heater levers, matching chrome dash knobs, painted front bumper and chrome carriage bolts and installed a set of Rally wheels, caps & rings I had in my inventory.

It already had the factory stainless steel windshield trim, factory vent shades, factory '66 Custom steering wheel and chrome horn ring assembly and saddle tanks, with the change-over valve under the driver side of the factory bench seat...that are sitting loose in the bed.

I may post this in the "Parts for Sale" forum, in case it is on someone Christmas wish list to Santa. Enjoy.

Factory dual tanks?

Can you post a pic of the valve to switch tanks.

I am putting a auxiliary tank on my current build.

I have a couple of them loose in my inventory, as well as one still installed on one of my rigs. I take a few pictures and post for your review.

Re: Added a new rig to the 4-5-6 Chevy fleet

What's the scoop on these bed mounted tool boxes? I've seen another & wondered & now noticed this truck has the same thing. Were they some sort of dealer add-on or??

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Acutally, those are factory saddle fuel tanks, that were available as a dealer option on the 4-5-6 Chevy trucks, as well as other years.

I guess the darkness of that pic had me confused w/what I've seen in this other truck (which I know is a smallish toolbox of some sort). They're both mounted in the same area so I assumed.....

What a great looking truck... should be a great build with the available options you listed.

Who's going to put this under their tree????

Here are a few shots of the factory dual tank change-over valve and the floorboard placard. The tag reads "Colorado Leisure Products" and "Left Tank / Main Tank / Right Tank". I have three of these switch valves and they are all the same from three different trucks.

Re: Added a new rig to the 4-5-6 Chevy fleet

That fuel tank valve is pretty neat.

So, was that a Recreational Vehicle aftermarket parts supply company or manufacturer?

I'm just curious is all... I'm such a truck geek.

Woogeroo:

I am not sure if Colorado Leisure Products was an aftermarket supplier or manufacturer. I am going to do a little research and check some of my factory literature. I will keep you posted on what I find.
