"babied it's whole life" - LOL!!!! I've seen what the guys did to the '68 brush truck I tried to buy up the road. I would have never called that babying a truck!!!

I agree, would have rather seen it with the fire emblems...

Re: 67 K-20 on Ebay

Am I the only one who noticed the coat hanger exhaust hanger? Now I'm sure most of us have done this to quite down a rattle on occation but not on a babied 25K resto...

These types of moves really make me wonder what people are thinking when they post pics. For example I just bought a previously enjoyed full sized truck from a stealership. I bought the truck in August, the online picture had snow on the ground, needless to say I got a hell of a deal!

I think it looks pretty nice for an old 67 4x4. With some different wheels and tires it could really look cool!

Re: 67 K-20 on Ebay

Correct me if I'm wrong but the 4 wheel drive front fender emblem didn't come out until 69 IIRC.

I sure love to have that Hand throttle with setup the deluxe 67 knob for my K20.

Re: 67 K-20 on Ebay

I`d love to have a truck just like that.I`m not sure why a Rockwell transmission needed totally rebuilt in a truck with 29,600 "babied" miles on it.Does your local FD baby their brush trucks on a call?Mine hauls ass down the road and beats it across land to get to a fire before it spreads. How did he spend $25,000 on a low-mile garage kept truck with constant upkeep?Musta paid out some decent shop time.I`m just knocking the seller`s comments. The truck should sell itself w/o exaggeration.Too bad he put the wrong mirrors on a stock restoration. To me that`s a big no-no.I`m looking at doors that need filled and matched up to paint.

Im a fireman, we beat all the trucks up. They stay clean, but get beat up driving down the road, stop and go traffic, off road, etc.

I am guessing that the rockwells were probably turds even when new. I have never seen one that wasn't caked with grease that had leaked out, and when the oil gets low the input bearings go boom. I know they are all 40 years old or older, but having the input so much higher above the fill line of the case is a bad idea regardless of age.

All front axles are full floating. You can remove the axle shafts from your front axle and still drive the truck.

Re: 67 K-20 on Ebay

I can tell you that any kind of fire equipment gets used...hard. They are part of our toolbox and are treated as such. Yes they are well maintained, but that mileage is probably equivalent to at least twice that much because of the way they are used. I agree with the rest of the folks who are noticing the flaws, if he paid 25 grand for a frame off resto then I would expect the chassis and body to be perfect, not the shabby shape its in. Someone is full of B*ll Sh*t.

Re: 67 K-20 on Ebay

Yeah,I love the truck.I don`t feel a need to pick it apart at all.It "is" very nice (as far as I can tell).I just don`t get it.We all talk about the dishonest used car salesmen. There`s a widespread bad reputaion that they all have to try to live down,if they`re honest.Yet,so many become that dishonest, fact exaggerating used car salemen as soon as they have something to sell.
It`s a nice truck.Ask what it`s worth, keep the fairy tale to a minimum, and let the truck sell itself.
