Speedometer calibration
just swapped in a dash cluster assembly into a 1990 4x4 with 24575r16 tires on it, from an 88 2 wheel drive which ran 23575r15's on it. How much will my speedo be out or how do I go about calculating the difference? Is there an easy way to calibrate the speedo from the 88 to work in the 90?

Re: Speedometer calibration
The axle ratio and tire size are what affects the calibration needed.
Go look at these threads. There is much discussion on calibrating these older speedometers and Tommie took the time to put together a good article on this subject. If you have more questions after checking the post just let us know what needs more explanation. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=313815 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=312063 Last edited by ChevyTech; 11-29-2008 at 11:24 PM. |
