67 K10 swb stepside production numbers?

I see where some of you have GM total model year production numbers for your truck model?
Where are you getting those production unit total numbers? My truck, I am restoring is a true 1967 V8 4wd model KE10704 and I know this V8 shortbox 4x4 has to be a low production unit didn't know GM in the US documented these model year break downs?
My VIN is KE147Z130***

Thanks, Mark

Re: 67 K10 swb stepside production numbers?

Mike
Very interesting link. There is quite a discrepancy in the listings. The vin K is of course 4wd versus C being 2 WD but the second letter E is V8 and C is a 6 cylinder. So in that listing all the 67 models are listed as 6 cylinder models and the 68 is listing mostly V8 only. And it goes the same for the 69 and 70's there. Do you suppose they are not broke down between 6 and 8 cylinder models or could it be that it should read 67 and 68 models both 6 and 8?
This truck I have is a factory built short frame never been cut down and the VIN and the truck installation is absolutely a factory V8 installation.
I know they are super rare in the shortbox and even more rare in a V8 short that year. I couldn't believe I would ever in my life find this truck. The original engine was replaced with later 307 but the rest of the drive train is bone stock original right down to the old spicer locking hubs and the 3 speed column shifter. In my frame up going on now, I am upgrading to a 205 /turbo 350 automatic behind a numbers matching 67 pickup 327. I also plan to go with a 72 disk brake front axle assembly. Thanks so much for the info. I have to believe that the 1000 units would be believeable anyway.

Mark

Re: 67 K10 swb stepside production numbers?

Mike
A model code KE10734 is used all years as a 8 cylinder, 4WD, fleetside swb pickup and mine has a code on the pass side firewall barely visible and also listed as the model# on the title as KE10704 K= 4wd, E= 8 cylinder, 107= swb and 04= with stepside box. My original glove box label was long gone but the original VIN tag still factory attached to the truck is KE147Z130xxx with 5000 lbs rating. This vin#would be a 4wd, V8, pickup body, 1967, and Fremont, California built. 30,000 and some built unit off the Fremont plant line in late 1966 or early 1967.
I would still be interested in any documentation as to how many Chevrolet built of the KE10704 models for 1967.
Thanks for the info. Mark

Re: 67 K10 swb stepside production numbers?

I found those same numbers in a few spots on the internet... all quoted from a book. All other years they posted like numbers in the KE model range... I would think they it covered both...

I know it's less than 2,000 4wds ever builts like that... I would use the 1229 number... not many of them out there anymore.

Re: 67 K10 swb stepside production numbers?

I have most everything saved up for this as it was originally white with blue interior but I plan to build it black with red interior CST and buddy buckets. I have a mint total dry rust free 67 red interior cab to compliment the build.
Thanks Mike, for all your trouble posting those numbers and there will be more pictures as this comes together in the next 6 months. I've been following your sweet 68 project.
