ignition alignment
I replaced the under dash wires and want to align and replace the ignition. Before it was out of alignment and the battery was always on. The problem is the ring does not want to go over the ignition, the little cap came off the old one. do you force it over and screw it on? How do you make sure it is aligned correctly?

The little cap is a permanet part of the tumbler asssymbly. Ignition key tumbler assymbly comes out and installs as one piece.
