Alternator wiring?
I posted in the electrical section, but I want to see if anyone else can help that has possibly dealt with this issue. This is my original post http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=314935
What I have. Delco 12si alternator New EZ wire harness New battery Issue I have. I turn key on (not run), no Generator light. Engine start give it rpms and the Gen. light comes on and the alternator is charging, 14.34v at idle and 14.41 with rpms. This is voltage at the battery. Once light is on it stays on until I shut off engine I currently have the power Alt wire (red) to the back lug of Alt. and then jumping to the #2 terminal. My excitor wire (white) going to the #1 terminal. |

1971 GMC Sierra Grande, 1/2 ton short wide, original 4 bolt 010 020 block & heads. (matching #'s). 383 stroker, SMI q jet 750 cfm, Lunati Voodoo 60102 cam, Scorpion roller rockers, Spin Tech pro street mufflers with X pipe.

I think at this point I will just bypass the Generator light. How should I wire in a voltage gauge to get true alternator voltage?

I am in contact with EZ trying to figure out if my wiring is correct. Hopefully I'll get it figured out.
I might put in a voltage gauge too, after this. |
