Manual clutch linkage problem

I have a 70 CST that I am putting a 3spd saginaw manual tranny in because I have a donor '72 (which may be up for sale soon for parts by the way). I believe I have all of the correct clutch linkage parts but I cannot figure out how the linkage hooks up to the clutch fork.

I have all of the pieces supposedly by referencing LMC truck but for whatever reason it does not intuitively fit in the fork. I may be working with incorrect parts for all I know since I got the assembly in pieces. If anybody has any reference drawing or pictures of the attachment into the fork that would be great.

I am a new member and a somewhat new Chevy truck guy, though I own a street/strip '85 Monte Carlo SS so I have a pretty good Chevy background.

Welcome from NC. The funky looking little piece that slides on the rod "sits" against the ear of the clutch fork. That make sense? I don't have any pics handy but I'm sure someone will jump in.

Re: Manual clutch linkage problem

That is what it looks like to me, but it doesn't look like it fits into any of the grooves on the fork. Does a nut and washer just secure it on the threaded end once it is through the clutch fork?

Re: Manual clutch linkage problem

there's a spring with a long straight end that serves as the return and the means for keeping the rod end against the fork. I have a spare, but Autozone sells a generic "pedal return spring" that is easily bent to fit through the hole in the frame.

Re: Manual clutch linkage problem

Thanks a ton! It just so happens I have that spring in the bucket of parts I was given when I bought my '72.
