dropping a C-20

hey guys i am wondering about lowering my 70 c-20. I have been looking around and I cant seem to find many options out there. I am just looking for a static drop of maybe 3-5". I would like to go to airbags later on, but the money won't allow it right now. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

If all you want is a 3/5 drop,... I would use 3" front springs and 5" rear springs. I assume you have rear COIL springs? You will also need drop shocks. That would be the cheapest without have to switch to disc brakes up front. Use 1/2 ton springs and you will enjoy the ride!

Thanks a lot. I wasn't sure if the 1/2 ton springs would work, but I'm am going to look into this for sure. Do you know if the 5-5 kit for a C-10 would work from djm suspension? Thanks again for your help.

I'm not sure what the front kit consists of. 1/2 ton lower control arms use a different size ball joint hole,...so if you are wanting to keep it a 3/4 ton, you may have to go a different route. If you want to convert it to a 1/2 ton that opens up a whole world of possibilities.

Do a combination of static & air-drop ('static' bags can be comparable in costs). For the front, just swap in some dropped coils from any of the supporting board vendors. For the back . ....

Firestone 224c (F-6873) air bags @ $75ea
CPP 1.5" alum lowering blocks & longer u-bolts @ $69
CPP 'bolt-in' c-notches @ $129 (bolted & welded for towing)
owner modified OE shock brackets (the same as a shock relocation kit from CPP or ECE @ $59)
Gabriel HD gas shocks (off the shelf stock replacement shocks)
90° air bag fittings $5 (x2)
straight 'schrader' fittings $5 (x2)
DOT .250" airline $20 from Suicide Doors

If you don't go as low you can eliminate the blocks & c-notches to save $$. My 1/2-ton swb was low enough the rear 'pumpkin' poked a hole through the original wood floor & still towed my trailer loaded w/my 74swb.

Thanks again for the help guys. I finally got a catalog from Classic Parts and i found some coils with a 3/5 drop for about 100 bucks a pair. Im gonna call them up tomorrow and see if everything will work together. I also got a nice C-notch from my buddy! Looks like things are coming together. . . . anyway thank you guys again. I'll ley you know how it's coming along a hopefully have some pics up soon.
