I was looking into for my self. Your gonna need just about everything for the front. And for the hood hinges, you have to mod the fire wall for the hinges.

But the swap looks bad azz!!

Re: 87 to 73 front end swap?

putting a 73 front in on a 81-87 is a piece of cake. If you have a donor unbolt EVERYTHING that attaches to the 73 and bolt it on your 87.
You WILL need the COMPLETE wiper assembly that is bolted to the 73 cowl though and will need to "fix"/drill holes in the 87.
You will also have to fix the bumper mounts at the frame horn. (and get the 73 bumper.

4x4 doesn't matter, it is the sheetmetal you want and it is the same.

If you want it looking "correct" weld a cover over the 81-87 hinge hole. Not required though.

You do not need to modify the firewall for hinges to put a 73 front end on an 87, the 73 hinges bolt to the fenders.
