I am needing ideas for door panels in my 67 please post up what you have done with your METAL door panels!

I had my upholstery guy in Oregon do the door panels, but they are easy enough to do yourself.

The material is tweed. I love the way tweed looks and feels. I cannot guarantee all materials will mold the way tweed does so take caution if you decide to use a different material.

You simply get a piece of material large enough (leave an inch or so on each side for wrapping the material around the edge) to cover the panel and spray contact cement on the outside of the door and the inside of the material. Give it a chance to dry (as per cement instructions) and flip the panel and place (glue down) on top of the material (glue up) and press down hard to make the glue bond. (Try to keep the panel parallel with the grain of the tweed.) Spray a little contact cement on the back edges of the panel and the outside edge of the material. Give that a chance to dry and fold the edges of the material over the edge and adhere it to the back. Trim and cut material as needed for a clean wrap.

Flip the panel over and start moulding the material into the grooves and contours. Ta dah! You're done.

These are what I did. I went and got the panel material and covered them myself. Nothing spectacular but it works for me.

These are pleated door panels sewed to a 1/4" foam backing... And the door pull/armrest is from a 1970 Monte Carlo...........Jim

richard, it looks like the pannel wouldnt go back into the hole cut out in the door wtih carpet over it..im strongly considering doing mine somewhat like yours.....

You can buy these from Classic Parts or LMC. The Venders here can probably get them also.

Well, tweed is not very thick. It lays inside the grove ok. And just in case you were wondering, my truck must have been pretty bone stock when it was made. It did not come with any inside armrests!

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
