converting from external reg to internal reg
I know this has been covered before, but my quick search didn't turn up the right posts.
My brother has a '72, and it has both the external voltage regulator and has been fitted with an internally-regulated alternator. Of course, I told him that he should just go ahead and get a new wiring harness that would be correct for his later alternator, but he's too hard-headed to do it....he'd rather just putz with what he has and so forth.....yeah, I know. So, anybody got a quick solution to converting his trucks wiring? I told him I'd ask on the forum if I couldn't find a post/schematic that covered it. Hey Bro., if you're reading this....I still think you should get a new harness because you know the harness you have is crap!

Here's a link to a thread put up by member toddtheodd.

Re: converting from external reg to internal reg
I'm sorry I took so long, but I had to "roam" around a bit to find it.
Here's another link to the same post. I purely do hope it helps you folks. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=119379 __________________

Re: converting from external reg to internal reg
Dieselarmy13's "LINKY" worked. The links to the board, didn't. Don't know what the issue is, but it looks like the LINKY has "Everything You Wanted To Know About Converting To A One-Wire Alternator But Were Afraid To Ask". Thanks.
