2 wd to 4 wd question
In another post on the 67-72 board someone posted that these model trucks have the hole already made into the frame for 4x4 axle in front. do the 73-87's also have them?, I'm getting a 78 crew cab 2 wd, and a 80 k-10, how hard is it to put the 4 wd axle under it?The crew is also a granny 4 how would I do the trans fer case? thanks ,

conover, I'm not sure what you are refering to about the "hole for front diff or axle". 72 era 2x and 4x frames are different. I don't know if the frame rails on a 73 & up 2x are the same as a 73 & up 4x. As for the trans and transfercase - the output shaft is different on 2x transmissions, so you would have to use a 4x4 tranny setup. Hope this helps! Good Luck, Rob

the holes are there, however you have to remove the front crossmember and move it too. It is a lot of work
