I bought a pickup so I could use it. If I wanted something that just looked cool I would have a car. Longbeds can haul more stuff.

Well this thread gives me the perfect chance to talk about what I've always wanted to do. Now I have both long and short beds, but i've always wanted to do and in between. shorter than a long, but longer than a short. Yes that would be a lot of work, but it would be the best of both worlds. And how many people do you know that own one of those? Exactly my point, HA!!, So There!!!!

i like breaking the rules but apparently everyone else does too. True the long bed is way more useful as a truck. Not only that but it achieved its usefulness with no loss to style. However, when you get your long bed to have the turning radius oy my shortbed, then ill be impressed. I can park in spots a honda civic wouldnt dream of. And as soon as i get a bigger sway bar i might be able to autocross it with out having to worry about picking tires up off the ground and popping beads. Imagine that, a truck that out turns a vette. Thats an advantage you can only get out of a short wheel base. To hell with a littel less usefulness,,, i can still pull trailer. Dont mean i dont want a 1 ton 4x4 though.
Oborny the point of an 8 foot bed is to fit an 8 foot sheet of plywood... if you go down to 7 foot 8 foot dont fit. But tru it would b slick to say, "i have a 7 foot bed" so when some one says bull**** you can shove it in thier face. Oh ya long beds lauch straight easier on the drag strip.... Oborny71,sounds close to what I would like to do.Don't know when I would get to it,but I want to make my longbed into a unibody by trimming the front of the bed and fitting it to the back of the cab.

I currantly have a short bed buy have owned a few long beds, I like a low long bed with nice wheel, WAY COOL. I also like the BIG 4X4 long beds MORE WAY COOL. I guess you could say I think there ALL WAY COOL as long as they are 67-72 Chevy
