rear step bumpers

I just put my stock chrome step bumper back on the truck and I think it looks like a$$. On a work truck ok but not a 5/7. anyone know where I can steal a standard bumper? Heck I'd even consider painted ones front and rear. Any pics of trucks with those on them? are there any aftermarket companies that make decent fitting ones?

Re: rear step bumpers

I think your best bet is a suburban or blazer bumper.

Re: rear step bumpers

plenty of aftermarket sport bumpers out there. - LMC- BROTHERS- CLASSIC INDUSTRIES ETC. BUT the brackets are different 7 CAN COST SOMETIMES MORE THAN THE BUMPER . very hard to find a good one at the bone yard- if you do make sure you get the brackets as well .

Re: rear step bumpers

I think the outer brackets from the blazers and burbs work, it's the inners that won't. Alot of guys just use the outers and put bumper bolts through the holes in the middle of the bumper--I don't think it would be that hard to fab up some brackets though.

i just realized that I don't know what year you are looking for....
classic parts has 73-80 and 81-87 bumpers in chrome and painted, they also have brackets
Capt has them over at 73-87chevytrucks.com too.

Re: rear step bumpers

brackets are not a concern...well versed at making chicken soup out of chicken poop. Are the bumpers any different physically or is it cosmetics?

Re: rear step bumpers

dunno, i think they might be shaped a bit different, but it seems the holes should be in the same place?
