Custom Inner Fenders

I need to put some sort of inner fender in my truck, but don't really like the stock ones. Has anyone done anything custom? I know some guys make them so they can be aired all the way out, but I just need them to keep water/dirt out. Any pics?

i know that some guys use trailer fenders for inners, and that Scotts hot rods is in the process of making some that will lay out 22s. Dosen't seem that this is what your wanting though.

Re: Custom Inner Fenders

Did I see some made out of fiberglass once???

I'm not crazy about them either. Seem too bulky and are good collectors of rust causing debris. I would think if you fabricate one, it would have to provide some sort of support for the fender, though.

I'm thinking of taking the inside the bed tubs from a fleetside and seeing if I can modify them to work.
Any thoughts?

Re: Custom Inner Fenders

I think using the bed tubs would be like using the trailer fenders, but more original looking. Cool idea. Ya I don't need to lay out with big wheels, I just don;t like the look. And they take up lot of valuable space, I would like to run some turbochargers one day, and theres lots of room for that if the fenders are out. Chris Alstons' Chassiworks makes some cool inner fenders for Chevy II's, has anyone done something like that?

Thumbs up Re: Custom Inner Fenders

I took two pair and made one pair. They are 6" wider than the originals. Think of the size of wheel I could put back there!!!

Re: Custom Inner Fenders

Classic Trucks has an article in the Jan 09 issue where they did fronts. This was on a Furd but the concept is the same.
