Power Steering
I was wondering if anyone has ever put power steering on a 67pu that did not have the indentation on the frame. If so how did you do it? Thank you for everyones help already. But looking for more info.

I helped install PS on a truck without the indent. We used a torch, a couple of clamps, a chunk of solid steel and a BFH to make an indent.
I understand that you can space the gear box using washers, but that it takes away from the structural integrity of the steering column or something like that. Fortunately, my 68 had the indent when I upgraded.

I second Earl Junior's post. I put the indent in my 68 frame with a torch and a "big" ball peen hammer. Just dented it enough for the box to clear. Now I am still looking for a power steering pump and brackets.

If you use the washer method like mentioned, it makes it real easy to shear the bolts holding it on (through mechanical leverage) and also, the gear box is more likely to be turned by 1/2 tooth or so and that will wear hte gear very quickly.

GMC Paul has a kit for installing power steering in the 67-68 trucks. You may want to check it out. $59.95
