bellhousing x-member?
I have a '69 C10 w/3 on the tree and want to convert to TH350.....Do I have to take out the bell housing x-member? Thanks

Three options:
1. Leave it and hate yourself for being lazy the next time you have to work on the truck. i think the auto trans will still fit. I have never left one. 2. You could do like the P.O. of on of the rolling chassis did and tke a torch and just cut off the part in the way. Guaranteed to get comment like "What the hell?" and "Oh, real nice, junk yard dog!" the next time you pop the hood at a cruise. I can't remember if it is riveted or not. I know the rear mounts for a 6 cylinder are. I think these are the same mounts you are referring to . 3. Take the time to remove them the right way. I have used a torch and angle grinder once, another time when no torch was available,a die grinder. A plasma cutter would be sweet, if you have access. |
