heckofa Christmas/Birthday present
My dad has grown rather attached to my truck since i have been deployed, and i feel kinda bad taking it back soon so i just went and bought him his own toy to play with. His birthday is on Christmas.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/c...ge=2#poststart All my old stuff including my old motor will be going to him for his new baby. Its convinient our trucks are the same years lol.

Re: heckofa Christmas/Birthday present
Do you need adopting? Looks like a great Christmas present.
BTW J/K about adopting you.I doubt I could do as good a job as your Dad.

Re: heckofa Christmas/Birthday present
Hey thanks for all of the compliments guys i appreciate it. The way i see it at the end of the day Family is all you've got, and the only thing that cant be taken away from you is your name. With the economy being **** right now my dad is strugglin and i was in a position to help him out so i did :-).
Plus my parents split up when i was a kid so i havent ever really seend my dad more then once a year, and i always wanted to build a hotrod with him. So i am looking forward to working on our trucks together. To all you dads out their who are building trucks for and with their kids good on yah. Jimmy

Re: heckofa Christmas/Birthday present
I am deploying next fall and my dad is taking my truck while I am gone. Hopefully he won't get too attached! How was your deployment? Where were you at? I am right up the road from you at Belvoir. We ought to go cruise in the spring.

Re: heckofa Christmas/Birthday present
What a nice gesture for you to make. Economy or not, it's nice to see our kids able to make the kind of offer to your Dad that you did.
My son was conscious of the extra money to be made in the war zone, as I was when I volunteered to go to VietNam. It didn't make the folks happy that I did, but I was too young and immature to have any idea about how they felt. Sometimes, parents and their children don't communicate on the same level.... But, to communicate the love of your lifestyle by giving him a truck like that, is an awesome thing to do.
