Pinion angle

Sup folks?

I have a '68 long box W/ 1" spring and 2 1/2" drop spindles in front and a 4" spring w/ a 3/4" block in rear. I don't like the block I cant find a true 5" spring.

So my ? is what pinion angle shim is the best for my app. If any one has played around w/ this Please any tips would be great. I believe they make a 1-6

Thanks

Check out this site. You will have to do some measuring if no one with your same setup replies. Hope this helps.

Have you checked the Early Classic 5" springs. I bought their kit with 2 1/2" drop spindles and 1" springs front and 5" springs rear. I haven't gotten everything installed but I would trust ECE to give you what they advertise. They also keep the load rating so you can use your truck as a truck, if you needed to.

As for pinion angle, this would be good into as I am swapping in a new rear end and need to weld the axle pads on. Anyone know what the stock angle is?

you'd think somebody with 600hp could measure the pinion angle to get it precise

Re: Pinion angle

I believe 3 degrees.
Do you need the axle pads for trailing arm rear end? I have a brand new set I'm not using from CPP.

Thanks for that info. I was thinking 3 degrees as this is very common for most Chevy's. As for axle pads, thanks but already have some from ECE. Just waiting to get the rear end installed.
