Need an estimation
I have the '59 283 v8 I pulled from my truck sitting in my garage and a guy at work wants to buy it, but I have no clue what to sell it for. It ran fine when I pulled it out, according to the previous owner it was rebuilt sometime before I bought it (probably a LONG time before lol) and it felt pretty strong in the truck. Edelbrock manifold, 4 barrel carb of unknown origin, distributor, coil, etc. Complete for the most part. It has some oil leaks but it didn't burn blue. I want to give him a fair price but not give it away.

Re: Need an estimation
Something to consider is that if the engine needs rebuilt and bored pistons are about $50 EACH. I found that this summer when I was going to rebuild the original 283 engine for my 64 Chevelle. Around here complete 283's go for about $300, 327's are more. I'm keeping my eyes out for a good block that already has +.030 pistons.
