Re: Gas Tank worked great!
sorry for the delay, the truck being so dirty (too cold to wash it the last couple weeks), and the christmas light reflections.....the one where the tank isn't visible is from eye level with the bumper, the other where i show the whole tank is from about 4 inches about the ground

Pics look good, thanks for posting. More is always better! It would be cool if you could get it on a lift to get some detailed ones from underneath

Re: Gas Tank worked great!
That looks good I wouldn't mind doing this to my truck, this would be great for traction to the rear tires.. But I Like the look of the stock filler on my 72.. So I am 50/50 on this mod

Re: Gas Tank worked great!
You can always use a blazer tank and just leave your stock filler where it is and run it through the bottom of the cab and down the frame rail to the tank.

Re: Gas Tank worked great!
because it it wider toward the front of the truck and gets smaller toward the rear it is not visible from the rear, and thats on a stock height truck, i imagin that a lowered one would be even less visible

Re: Gas Tank worked great!
Did you have to modify the filler neck at all?....or did you just get lucky with it centering up in the bumper just perfectly...

Re: Gas Tank worked great!
I just measured it out before hand and got square tubing to mount it to that was the right height so it would end up there.

Re: Gas Tank worked great!
Is that bumper at the same height as a stock "sport" bumper or is it a little lower?

Re: Gas Tank worked great!
I have heard of it when I was doing mine and was looking for a place to put my filler neck. But I wanted to hide mine so I didn't do it. All you would have to do is cut off your filler neck off of your stock tank then add pipe from there I would think.
( This is not to take from this thread but to give an idea to some few that might want to keep the stock tank. If anyone would like to brain storm on this idea please start a new thread and pm me the link. Now back to the thread )
