where to put subs
im going to put some subs in my 72 chevy truck and i dont want to take the gas tank out and was wondering if anybody has put them under their seats. lets see some pictures and recomendations...

Not many people here have put them under their seats. If you get a shallow mount sub you can do it rather easily.

would you have to have a custom box or does anybody make a box to go under the seat and what shallow mount subs are the best

I personally like the Pioneer shallow subs, but the JL Audio TW5's can't be beat...
You can probably order a box through crutchfield, but I prefer to build a custom box so that way I'm 100% sure that it's what I want and that it suits me needs. Building one for under the seat is tricky in comparison to one behind the seat because you have to compete with the tracks. If you don't move the seat, not a big deal. Build the box from 3/4" MDF and also build it so the sub is facing the seat, not the floor. If you make it face the floor, it may not sound as good for a number of reason that I won't get into.

Also, no matter what anyone tells you, a good sheet of 3/4" MDF is not that cheap...
Also; MDF = Medium Density Fiberboard
