hey G, my stereo/cd player does the same thing, closes when turned off. it is a kenwood also, but not the same model. when i built my boxes, i i made a board (padded it and covered it all the way across the back then i angled the speaker mount boards to the door line, still tucked into the crease. it looks really good. man i am going to have to get a camera so i can post these pics.
