Is the front axle on a 1980 K10 a corp. 10 bolt or is it a Dana 44? The rear is a 12 bolt if that helps.

77 was SUPPOSED to be the year they switched to corporate 10 bolt . One thing I have found for sure on these trucks after 15+ years of toying with them is that NOTHING IS for sure.your 1980 SHOULD be a corporate 10 bolt. I know now by looking but a certain way is to go on ebay and look at this dana44 cover [url="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1814204089&r=0&t=0]http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1814204089&r=0&t=0[/URL"] and see what it looks like, then look at this 10 bolt front cover to see which it is. remember you are looking at the bolt pattern as either of these covers may differ from original in appearance. looks like the dana has much flatter sides and LESS round. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1814008263
