cheap lowering shocks
Hey guys...
I've got a 63 that I put 3/4 drop springs on. My questions is my rear shocks have seen better days and I would like to put new shocks on the front and rear. Does anyone know of a cheap alternative to lowering shocks that would work. Would stock shocks work? Or is there another truck that has the same type of shocks with a different travel length then ours? Thanks Mark |

You should be able to find something on a cross reference sheet. You just need to match up end styles and lengths.

We used a set of Monroes (Monro-Matic Plus - part no.: 33033) for the front on the rear of my buddy's '66 recently since they're a little shorter. It worked out perfect for his lowered rear end and it didn't provide such a harsh ride.

I used air shocks on my 05 with a 4-6 and it rides ok, not great, but ok...you can air them up or down to get the ride that you like.

I'm using Doetsch Tech Drop Shocks from CPP (Classic Performance Parts) They are fairly inexpensive but may be more than you wanted to spend at around $30 each. They are great shocks though and rde like a cloud...
