I'm sure it's been covered on this forum over and over. BUT, I can't find it, so I'll just ask again.
How do I know when I'm looking at a 71 or 72 pickup AM FM radio??
Did they come in vans and have small differences like tilts did?
How many years look close to one another?
The reason I'm asking is, a guy is bringing one for me to look at this week, and I really don't have a clue. DENNIS

'Delco' on the dial lens is written in script, not block letters. The antenna cable connection is on the back, and I think the van radio connection is on the side. I think there are other differences the radio experts around here should know about.

Here are a few pictures comparing both, note the lens and frequency drum diffs, also note the rear support bracket on the truck model which is not present on the van models since the support bracket (on vans) attached to the bottom of the radio with two clip in studs, studs are normally gone but the two holes can be easily seen on the bottom pan of radio. The antenna connection on the truck am/fm's will plug straight into the right hand (looking fwd) side of the radio and the vans plug into the same side but have an angled plug socket. I have came across one van am/fm that I removed from a 73 GMC van that had the straight antenna socket, but all the other van diffs were present on that one.

Factory original truck amfm has the antenna plug in on the pass side behind the heat sink. Every Van radio I've seen plugged in on an angle from the bottom. The lense can be swapped out very easy to mislead. The dealers had a GM amfm that looked like and worked perfect in the truck but had the power, antenna, gound connection on the drivers side towards the rear. There are actually about 4-6 part numbers used for the trucks. Huck

some persons was telling me before that the cst trucks had the am/fm and the non cst trucks had am only i will be puting in a cd player in my 67 chevy truck

It looks to be in great shape. It even has warranty do not remove seals on it.So it's been gone through recently. It works.
For sure the right radio for pickups????

Not true... CST didn't include a radio at all. It was still optional

I looked at one at the Portland swap meet. The guy wanted 350 for it. It was in poor shape. I was working the AM FM selector back and forth and it came off and wouldn't work anymore. I ran.
