20" wheel backspace ?

What backspacing are you guys with 20's running front and rear ? I may pick up a set of 20's and they are apparently 20x8.5 with 5.75"backspacing . I would have the rears rehooped to a 10 inch wide and probably a 5.25-5.50" backspace . Do you think the wheels will work well on the front with a 245/45/20 or a 245/40/20 ?
Thanks ,
Frank

Re: 20" wheel backspace ?

Frank,

The front will work and the tire size too, but if you are running a 10 on the back you need to get a bigger tire, my backs are 5.25 BS with a 295-40-20. but it's best if you check your truck for the right BS. It's easy to do. tirerack.com has something that you can go by..

Re: 20" wheel backspace ?

I have 5.75 back spacing on my 10" wide wheels and with my air ride I wouldn't want to go any less. I'm running a 295 out back. Up front I have 20x8.5's with 5.75 BS and a 245/35/20.

I hope you wnt be offended if I run the same wheel . The wheels I am looking at are the same Vista's with the suede accents . I would love to see a pic of those with the suspension aired up . Any chances of getting pics of that ?

Yep, I just happen to have snapped one just before it got rolled back into the garage for dis assembly. I won't be offended. I think it's safe to say my truck has enough character that I wouldn't think you're copying me. One thing about the "suede" accent is I was expecting a "sandblasted" finish, and the centers are actually painted silver. Which worked out fine for me, because I'm using silver as an accent color between the black and red.

Also I was wrong on my back spacing. I'm running 5.25" all the way around. Here's a pic at full lift. Sorry don't have any pics of ride height.
