newest addition to my family!!!

so, i wasn't exactly planning on going home for Christmas, all the way back in Montana, but this little booger gave me the boot in the butt to bite the bullet and go home ... mainly to get this!!!

1967 C10 Longbed - presumably with a 292, but uncertain ...

I'm going to take the front cab pieces off of this truck and put them on my '68 longbed stepside ... I kind of feel bad chopping up a truck this gorgeous, but I really really want my '68 lookin' schnazzy!!!

left Kansas yesterday evening, drove darn-near straight through ... loaded up this truck this evening at 7:30 in the dark in a foot of hard snow ... paid my $500 for her, and hit the road and made it home in time for Christmas ...

Re: newest addition to my family!!!

I have made that drive many times from Manhattan to parts beyond picking up trucks. Not a bad haul if the floors aren't to bad.

Re: newest addition to my family!!!

floors are actually pretty darn good ... of course, not perfect ... but everything on this truck is at least repairable, whereas about 60% of my 68 is rotted thru, and would just be horrendous trying to make decent ...

Re: newest addition to my family!!!

looks like a great buy, why not build on that platform since you say yours is on bad shape?

Re: newest addition to my family!!!

I would say build on this truck and use the 68 for parts if its 60% bad. This truck is good looking. My first 69 from last year needed everything. I got another 69 that needed alot less and started there. I am glad I did.

Re: newest addition to my family!!!

wasn't planning on doing anything with this frame and whatnot ... yet ... but as i tend to do things, i'll find another truck of this sort and will work on combining them together ...

and the frame and underbody of the '68 are actually in good shape ... it's just the body pieces that are rusted ...

Re: newest addition to my family!!!

naw, it's too heavy, and i have a huge tilt deck trailer with a winch ... the trailer alone sagged Ruby, the '78 something terrible, so I borrowed my buddy Matt's 01 Dodge 3/4 ton Cummins ...

Re: newest addition to my family!!!

I don't believe that's a 292. I don't see the bypass hose under the upper radiator hose and the side covers don't look 9 inches tall.
