Exclamation Severe cold start acceleration problem

I have been experiencing severe cold problems lately. When I start the truck up it starts as it should, it idles fine and I leave it in the driveway a few minutes and I go to drive off. I put the truck in gear and as soon as I depress the accelerator the truck stalls out. And stays like that until the truck really warms up. As I am driving and I hit the accelerator it begins to stall and I ease up. Even after it warms up I have to take the truck around the neighborhood and juice it up before I go on the main road for fear of it stalling out.
The latest repairs have been the following:
1. Rebuilt 4bbl Rochester
2. New MSD distributor

Once the truck is fully warmed up it runs much better although I have little confidence in it. I doubt if this is a timing issue as it doesn't have this problem on warm up. I am leaning toward the carb. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Choke pull may be pulling a little too much,It opens the choke up after the engine starts so it will stay running. But too much pull and you can have the results your dealing with.Several styles this one in the pic has an adjustment screw to change to opening after startName: pull4.jpg

when running it should pull the choke open just about a 1/4 inch(there is a chart that gives the opening just not here at the moment)Name: pull2.jpg

You may have to adjust a couple of times to get it right but that's where I would start

Is it that screw right on the pot? I don't have to bend the pull? Thanks.

Re: Severe cold start acceleration problem

have you checked the operation of your choke and fast idle,
I had the same problem,
I just recently got my choke adjusted and the fast idle working,
now it is so much better.....
