Major Trans Problems

Ok so first off the bolts for the trans to the transfer case adaptor keep coming loose, even after torquing them. Second, with that come leaking ATF. Third problem went for a drive, after thinking I fixed the problem, to find that I still had a leak. So we turned around to go back home. We stopped to pick up some ATF and 5 miles from home the trans gives out. Even after filling it up with more ATF it won't engage into gear. So she got towed home. So after all that, my question is what is shot, the trans, the torque converter, or both. My money is on the TC and maybe some damage to the trans. I'll have pics later.

Re: Major Trans Problems

I've got a working TH350 I pulled out of my 4x4 in Orange County. We can talk if you think that may help..
I don't have any ideas on your trans though. Maybe something simple?
Those 4 bolts are a real problem to get tight since there is no real room to get to them. You might want to check the condition of all the motor and trans mounts to make sure they are all in good shape. If not, you could be putting a bunch of twist through the bolts - working them loose..
