Re: is a 3 gallon
The size of the tank is certainly a consideration, being as it helps in providing a consistent air supply. But if your compressor can put continuously provide the cfm and pressure your spray gun requires...then the size of the tank is of little consequence. That being said- I would be suprised if a small-ish compressor like your 3-gallon unit would be able to keep up the the demands of a spray gun.

Re: is a 3 gallon
I have a 60 gallon upright that keeps up just fine. It still kicks on during the job. I still need to get a water/oil separator for mine once I get around to working on my 68.

Re: is a 3 gallon
A three gallon compressor is only big enough for momentary use types of tools, nail/staple guns that "fire" quickly, not for "motor" type tools that spin for any kind of time.
You might get lugnuts off with an impact wrench, but you'll probably have to wait between them. Sanders, die-grinders, spray guns are a no-no. |

Re: is a 3 gallon
Want to paint? Get a 2 stage compressor with at least a 15gal tank.
