1977 K10 Tranny Trouble
I have a 1977 K10 w/350 4bbl. Stock auto trans. The trans will shift into and work in park, reverse, and neutral. It jams just after neutral and before drive. If you jam at it long enough it will pop into drive. I have already disconnected the linkage and it is not linkage trouble. Anyone hear of this? Thanks in advance.

I'm not 100% sure. What is the best way to tell? It has a 13 bolt trans pan and a full time 4wd locking transfer case.

You can identify the tranny as follows.
700R4 - pan is mostly square 350th - pan is mostlyl square with a corner cut off 400th - pan looks like a map of an island I'm not a big 4X4 guru. Checkout www.colork5.com Those guys know their stuff on 4X4. Checkout www.chevytalk.com the 73-87 truck forum. Ask Tim, he pretty young but has some good info on the 4x4's |
