Re: NOS Sport Mirror Question...

I know you can buy new Chrome ones from dealers for around $50 ,,so what is it exactly that make NOS worth more I would like to ask.?. Is it that whoever buys them can say that they are original .. If this is the reason why ,,and I were the people who wanted them,,then I would be willing to pay double to get them ,, knowing that they are rare ..

Of course this mop

Re: NOS Sport Mirror Question...

you cannot get them from the dealers anymore. they are discontinued. if you are paying $50 for them, they are aftermarket, not NOS GM originals.

Re: NOS Sport Mirror Question...

I would agree with the around $150-$200 range. I personally bought one from the dealer about 10 years back and at the time it was about $60 for just the mirror.

Re: NOS Sport Mirror Question...

The sport mirrors were sold as mirror unit, gasket unit and mounting plate, total costmy cost as employee 8 years ago was nearly 7 per side so if discontinued now they are worth at least 200 if all complete.

According to the seller, these do not have the mounting plate. Is this correct, or is it missing parts?

Re: NOS Sport Mirror Question...

The one I bought at the dealer came with the mirror and gasket. I had to use my original mounting plate.

Well this is good to know.... I was under the impression that the mounting plates should be in the box as well.

Re: NOS Sport Mirror Question...

I have a set that has the mounting plate, gasket and the 3 screws in the box. They may have been put in there later. GM numbers are still on everything but the 3 screws.

Re: NOS Sport Mirror Question...

This kit includes the gasket, mirror, mirror support (not sure what to call it, basically the rest of the mirror ), and a sealed pack of screws.

Re: NOS Sport Mirror Question...

The only place I've found them is GMpartsdirect, I bought a set and they were not the best, supposeably NOS but were flawed. I've had 3 other NOS sets and all had mounting plates, gaskets, mirrors and screws

Flawed How? do you have a part number. GMparts direct only goes back to 1980.

Does anyone have the factory number.?

What about the ones from Car and Truck Shop? or Board Vendors?

I need a set but they have to come with the mounting plates.
