Question 67-72's

Hey guys-

I was just wondering what price range you might be able to fine one of these for. I wouldn't want anything perfect but I wouldn't want something that was a total restoration project. Also, is there a good place to look for them??

Thanks for the help in advance.

There seems to be quite a lot of these trucks coming out of Washington and Oregon. You should have a good choice of vehicles up there.

Welcome to the board. I recently bought one a 72 C-10 for a driver that is pretty rusty, but runs and drives good for $300. It's a 307/4spd.

Welcome from Kansas City.

If anyone wants to sell you one in fairly good shape for over $2000, consider asking to see receipts for the work they have done.

Welcome to the board from Washington State!!
South west Washington that is.
I keep a close eye on collectorcartraderonline.com
You can do a search, and narrow it down by year, price, location etc.
I live down the street from Blue Beard.
I have seen that Green GMC he has. It has buckets and is in real good shape!
Iv'e been trying to get him to sell me his Black 1970 CST......
He won't do it though! Can't say I blame him.

Some things to decide if you want...
Long VS Short bed
Coil Spring Rear VS Leaf spring rear
Auto VS Manual Transmission
V8 VS Inline 6
etc etc...

Darren

You shouldnt have to much of a problem finding a good driver. Theyre pretty much dima a dozen in Washington. Ive bought 4 67-72's in Washington state in the last 10 years and I have never spent more than $700 on one and all of them were running and driving vehicles. Usually they needed tires and a battery and what not but generally trucks on this side of the mountain are relatively rust free and a good basis for a project. Look in the newspapers and the buy and sell paper from Seattle. Its sort of the state bible for car parts.

I paid $500 for this with the original 396. It was solid and less than a year later is the truck I currently drive

Hey again guys-

Thanks for the warm welcome. I just moved into our house today so I haven't been on for a couple of days. As for the smiley burnout a few of you have been asking about I got it from the Fullsize Chevy.com forum. If you go there, sign up if you're not a member, and reply to a post you'll get the same list of smilies you do here buttttttttttttttt if you look at the bottom of the window you'll see a link for more smilies. I just linked one of the ones I like there to my post. They've got quite a few you guys might be interested in. I'm looking for a 67-72 2WD Short Wide box that needs a bit of work/love but nothing that involves some serious restoration. That's my dream truck and I'd really like to get my hands on one. I don't think I would be able to pick one up right this second but I'd kinda like to keep my eyes opened for one. Anyways, that's much for welcome guys.

Later.....

Ive got one I will sell you for a mere 100 grand. All that is left to do to it is paint. Please don't take me seriously. For a decent one, that has already been "restored", I would expect to pay around 8-10 thousand. If you are looking for something that has the latest trends such as airbags and all that sort of stuff, I would expect to pay around 15,000 and up. That was the pricing a couple years back when I was looking for mine. I paid 6000 and mine was in fairly good shape. If you go to my website, you can see what it looked like. This was also in Phoenix, arizona so prices might be different in a smaller city, if you are in one. Happy Hunting

Welcome from another WASHINGTONIAN, where we rust instesd of tan, you should drive east about 4 or 5 hrs and you'd be in the land of dry/rust free clean trucks.
