IS there an easy way to install doors?

Trying to install my doors and I would make a sailor blush! There is just not enough and in the world for this job. Got any ideas? BTW, the fenders are on the truck.

i had the same problem, not enough hands. i used my floor jack rolled the jack up next to cab & sit the door on it& eased it on up , worked great.

Re: IS there an easy way to install doors?

I did as T&T did. A floor jack with a jackstand helps alot. Not as good as a buddy, but it did work. Then I made the mistake. I thought, I don't have a buddy near by, I'll just ask the wife. Well, unless you want a divorce, DO NOT ask the wife. Poor thing. I had to hold the door, and she was TRYING to start the bolts. Oh my. What a mess.

Re: IS there an easy way to install doors?

someone makes a dolly specifically for putting doors on.

i don't feel like searching the web tho...

*edit... why the hell not... http://automotive-door-dollys.brutmfg.com/

from what it looks like, this would be pretty easy to build. it might even be easier to add or convert a harbor freight engine stand into a door dolly.

I had to take the fender back off to do it but I think the drivers side is done. Tell me what you all think.

I put the hinges on the cab then lifted the door and just held it up and finger threaded. Hard work but it didnt take too long.

Re: IS there an easy way to install doors?

without the fender on you can put the door on pretty easily by yourself. you just slide the hinges in first and then latch the door as if it were attached and you only have to hold up the hing area whill putting the bolts on.
