1972 (?) CHevy 4 Speed

I have an old Chevy truck I believe is a 1972. Body is too rusted out, but it has a heavy third member and a 4 speed tranny. Is the tranny or rear end worth much these days? Just wondering before I part them completely out.

I also have a 1959 Apache is pretty rough shape, but good 6 cylinder engine.

thanks

It kind of depends on weather its a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton & the rear end ratio. But regardless they should have some sellable value even though there is a lot of stuff out there. If the engine in the 59 is a 6 cyl. they sell pretty good.

Thanks for the response. I believe its a 3/4 ton and maybe a 1 ton....if they made them. REAL heavy springs. I still have the 4 bolt and am holding on to it. I have a 400 runner and was thinking of using the crank in the 350 as a build. Not sure, but last I checked the 350 was a special heavy duty block for the bigger trucks. I will have to recheck my sources though. Does that sound right?

The Apache is my son's, but the body is in pretty poor shape. I see one can buy most of the body panels, doors etc, but they are pricy. I suppose the used sources are rare.

thanks for the reponse
