Parts interchange ?'s

1)I am stripping parts for my Suburban and was wondering if a 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive mastercylinder and brake booster would work on my 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive Suburban? both are 1969's

2)I have discs on the 4x4 truck, can I use the proportioning valve if I put discs on the Suburban?

3)Would the power steering boxes inerchange?

Thanks for any help I can Get....I really appreciate it...I would love to get this thing mobile before spring.

Re: Parts interchange ?'s

look real close at the steering box, I don't know on the early stuff, but on the 73-87 gear boxes are different, the out put shaft where the pitman arm goes on is longer on the later 4x4 units. Like I said, I don't know if that is a fact on the pre 73 units. Just something to check.

Thanks for the info, I also read in another post that the 4x4 steering boxes are different? I will have to look at them and see?

Re: Parts interchange ?'s

The difference is in the pitman arm. But,that changes the sector shaft as far as how the pitman arms mount.Parts are interchangable,it`s the same housing, and a rebuild kit is $15 at Napa if you`re so inclined.

Re: Parts interchange ?'s

Project '67 , Are you in SoCal still ? We are there alot...My girlfiends aunt lives in Santa Monica, just outside of Venice. We spent Christmas with her anf I froze my @$$ off. It was warmer here by a few degrees, and that never happens in December!!!

By the way nice Suburban, It took me about ten years to find a reasonable project here, I had a '69 panel, but always wanted an extra door on it ?
