does anyone have a photo of their rear bumper mounts? i have been looking at several trucks and all of them, including my low mile original, and they all have what looks to be pieced together scrap metal.
anyone have a pict of what they are supposed to look like? im talking about the heavy painted bumper. thanks

Re: 3/4 ton photo request
dont think it matters, but yes that is what i have. mine were so screwy that i had to make custom brackets when i had the towing hitch put on. hitch wouldnt fit with the bumper on!

Re: 3/4 ton photo request
I don't have pics, but the step bumper on my '69 C-20 is welded to the frame. The bumper is original to the truck.

Here you go. If anybody has any idea of the towing capacity of this bumper, I'm all ears.

Re: 3/4 ton photo request
Sorry,I don`t have any here to show.I think some were rom factory and some were dealer installed, which sometimes means at another business.Maybe those could be mounted...however.I seem to recall mine (on two different trucks) were the same and looked manufactured. Both bumper bolted on.

Re: 3/4 ton photo request
hopefully these help you out. the hitch that you can partially see in the photo is the hitch that was mounted with the old big bumper just modified to fit my new bumper, I used a bumper off a 02 gmc truck and just got it mounted to the hitch last night still have to make the brackets for it. FYI the hitch fit great with the old bumper and it is a class v made by draw-tite.

Re: 3/4 ton photo request
Im not sure if the ones I have a factory or not I just know that they are exactly the same as each other (they mirror each other perfectly) and can go on either side of the truck and they fit well

Re: 3/4 ton photo request
The pics posted by trx450duner are indeed the factory correct setup with a factory installed step bumper listed on the SPID (option V43). I'm sure a factory bumper installed by a dealer would have used same brackets as well, since they were engineered to line up with the pre-existing holes in the frame.
All bets are off with any bumpers installed in the aftermarket, even if dealer requisitioned for the customer at time of purchase.
