Dang this choked me up just readin it. One of my earliest memories is of being a kid watching my dad in the garage rebuilding his 1970 AMX, he was on a roller underneath the car when I asked him "Dad, can I have this car when your gone?" and him being silent, then asking me to go in the house with my mom. Over the course of the years my father bought & restored 2 other AMC's (A 68 AMX and a 70 Rebel Machine), and I never did get the opportunity to help.

Guess what I am trying to say is that you are a blessed man PJ, for your son (PJ-Jr) to have a dad and grandpa that care that much and are willing to share this with him, these will be cherished memories that he never forgets. I am 34 and pretty much learning as I go but my daughter, who just turned 5 mos old on Weds, has already been down in the garage with me sitting, squawking, and keeping me company. I know she will not remember these early days, but maybe later she can pick up a wrench or bolt, get her hands dirty, and spend some bonding time with her pops working on (And hopefully appreciating) the rig she just might receive for her 16th birthday...

I drove my Dad's 69 GMC when I was in high school back in the 70's. ( it was nearly new then, I didn't know it would be a classic someday) I inherited it after he died, rebuilt it and drove it for another 15 years, then my son drove it in high school. I plan on passing it on to him someday for my grandson to drive. These trucks are timeless and should be passed down to the next generation.
