That's one drop dead gorgeous truck - hope the new owner enjoys it to the fullest!

Re: sayin bye to my 72
well i fully agree with vt, i hope this guy keeps it ... although it was a nice truck and all, i can use the black one so much more. the fellow found it here on our site. thanks k for linking up a picture, i have a couple pics of it loaded up on the trailer that took it 800 miles, ill try those in a bit. the guy called and seems very happy already has a bunch of his own touches he wants to do. first off is disc brakes in front lol cant blame him, and a d60 in front, and he doesnt like the 4 speed much.hes from illinois and been driving it in the snow, something that woulda been hard for me to do.

Re: sayin bye to my 72
Sounds like the new owner is kinda foolish.Sorry, had to say it.He musta been reading too many off road magazines.Guys think it`s no good unless it has a Dana60.I guess once it`s all rotted out he`ll turn it into a rough shod trail machine that could use the extra strength.Right now that Dana60 would be just for looks/braggin`rights.I`m sorry to hear it`s going to be an Illinois rust bucket ater all that work.

Re: sayin bye to my 72
Wondering, why does your 72 have drums brakes that he needs to change?
Seems like people ditch the drums cause they 'read' somewhere that disc's are better, same reason he's putting a D60 in a street truck I guess. |

Re: sayin bye to my 72
i hear ya k... that salt will be killer on any older truck,
vt... that was a 69 longbed frame that was cut down to make a swb, so it still had the drums , but i replaced everything wheel cyl, shoes springs, turned drums, this thing stopped great and straight also, which doesnt happen much. i talked to him on the phone the other night and now hes thinking of just addin a power brake booster, and nope i havent bought a thing for the black swb (yet) im tryin my best to refrain!!! its hard, but i know once i start i wont wanna go half way. and its my d/d right now sold my hummer, trying my best to fight off the newer truck urge, grrr its hard tho. hopefully the economy will pick up and things will be alil more secure.

Re: sayin bye to my 72
You can`t beat these trucks to get you through hard times. They`ve helped me through a few recessions. They ain`t the best on gas,but make up for it by running on a shoestring budget.

Re: sayin bye to my 72
i couldnt agree more tim,bit hard on gas, but no car payments, insurance about nothing, parts cheap and easy to find, better re-sale than newer cars! plus my wife has been getting frustrated im always doing things to my things, so i got her a set of lower springs for her 06 gt, got em in this week , so shes happy now,

Re: sayin bye to my 72
Seeing that truck on the trailer brought tears to my eyes. Sorry that it's gone, but I know you'll put the money to good use.
