Kickdown question for th350

right... So, I have a vacuum line going to my tranny.
does that eliminate the need for a kickdown cable (for WOT and such?)

I eliminated every other vacuum draw (brakes, dizzy, etc)... so all of my vacuum is going to my tranny now, but I wonder what to expect when I'm shaking out the bugs in the coming months.

You need a cable for proper kickdown, and vacum is a must for proper shifting.

Thanks! The set up I'm taking off has a cable, but i don't like where it's set to. It always kicked down a fraction of a second too late for my taste. I think I have a good excuse to put a nice plate/bracket assembly between my carb and intake... maybe I'll even double the plates and throw one on the passenger side for a regulator... which should give me a little happier low end for getting all this truck moving!

hoping to get the real power from this engine to the ground, especially now that I have the right sized carb and a better ignition. The TH350 feels SUPER tight, but I don't think anything on this truck has been dialed in in a LONGGG time.

the modulator controls the upshift points with other items assisting in that decision.
The kickdown downshifts it when you floor it, and it also is one of the factors that 'over ride' the upshifting, holding it in first or second longer.
