Removing Headliner Trim
How do I remove the headliner trim tabs from their slots WITHOUT breaking anything?
I ran a thorough search here and finally found a picture of the tabs but its not clear enough for me to determine how they are held in the slot. Do I just pry them out with a screwdriver? Or… ???? thanx

Re: Removing Headliner Trim
It seems like breaking them is part of removing them.
![]() Seriously, they are so brittle at this age that it is about impossible to get them out without at least cracking a moulding. All you can do is try to carefully pry out near the clip spots with something like a plastic blade. Last edited by MT1972cheyenne; 01-11-2009 at 08:28 PM. |

Make sure the trim is warm before you try it. I have had good luck with a heat gun set on low. Just don't get it hot enough to melt it. I would think a hair dryer would work also. LockDoc
