Re: Door Jamb vent

Here is the million dollar question. I put a new (71 0r 72) cab on my (69) truck and moved the vin label to the new cab. I just received the rosette rivits to put my vin plate back on. Is there a cop in Kansas smart enough to realize that it is vined as a 69 with an option only available in 71 or 72? which holes does the vin go in, top or bottom?

Re: Door Jamb vent

I don't think no one will notice, but if so, Tell them you added the vent to get better circulation around the smelly gas tank.

Unless you get a cop that is into vehicles, most don't know or care about the differences. It shouldn't be a problem. Oh, and to answer, they go on the top holes.

I agree, I doubt anyone would notice even, probably most who actually know the trucks wouldn't catch it. Well, Longhornman would, but I don't think he is a cop.

Re: Door Jamb vent

What's the vent for? And is it on both sides?

It's only on the driver's side. IIRC, it is a pressure vent, allowing for extra pressure in the cab to be released when the door is closed.

If he does know enough about them, he will probably also know why you did what you did & not say a word.
